Can I disable or hide one fulfillment option (e.g., shipping) and only offer another (e.g., local delivery)?
Yes, you can control which fulfillment options are available to your customers. Here are several ways to achieve this depending on your specific needs:
- Restrict certain fulfillment methods for specific products
- Disable certain fulfillment methods entirely
Method 1: Using Product Availability Feature
This feature lets you restrict certain delivery methods, like Shipping or Local Delivery, based on product tags. For detailed instructions on controlling product availability, see our guide on controlling which products are available for pickup, delivery, or shipping.
Steps to Block Fulfillment Options:
- Navigate to Pickup & Delivery, Configure locations (based on your schedule settings) or Shipping settings in your Bird app.
- Find the
Product Availabilitysettings. - Choose how to apply the restriction:
- Select "Include Specific Products" if only tagged products should allow that delivery method.
- Select "Exclude Products tagged with" if you want to block the method only for specific tagged products.
Note: If you are configuring Shipping specifically, access the settings via Bird App Settings > Shipping. For comprehensive shipping setup instructions, refer to our guide on how to set up standard shipping settings.
Method 2: Other Control Options
Additional Methods to Control Availability:
- You can disable the scheduling widget entirely for a delivery method by selecting the "No Date & time" option in availability settings.
- You can alternatively disable the method entirely by turning off the option from Pickup & Delivery, Configure locations (based on your schedule settings) or Shipping settings.
- If you are offering multiple fulfillment methods with rates, disabling Shopify's built-in store pickup is recommended. This helps avoid customer confusion at checkout.
Important Notes
- The Product Availability feature is included in all subscription tiers (Free, Essential, Advance, Premium).
- The feature is applicable whether you use the same schedule for all locations or different schedules for different locations. Learn more about setting up the same schedule for all store locations or setting up different schedules for multiple store locations.
