Can I open a specific date when its weekday is closed?
Holiday lands on a day your store is normally closed? You can still open just that one date for pickup or delivery without changing your base configuration.
Bird does not have a one-click "open this date" toggle, but the workaround is simple: enable the weekday in Configure Availability, then use Blockout Dates to block every other occurrence of that weekday so only the holiday date remains open.
Use this for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, or any public holiday that lands on a day you usually do not operate.
Steps
- Go to Bird Settings > Configure Locations > [Your Location].
- Click Edit Settings on the affected method (Store Pickup or Local Delivery).
- In Configure Availability, enable the weekday the holiday falls on. Set operating hours and time slots.
- Scroll to Blockout Dates. Block every upcoming date of that weekday except the holiday date. Cover at least every occurrence inside your Max Available Days window.
- Click Save and verify in Widget Preview.
- After the holiday has passed, return to Configure Availability and disable the weekday again.
