How do I exclude certain products from specific delivery or pickup options?

Use Product Availability to block certain delivery methods for tagged products or Widget Visibility Override to directly hide the scheduling widget.

The Difference

  • Product Availability controls which delivery methods customers can select. Use Product Availability to restrict certain items to specific delivery methods (e.g., pickup only, no shipping). See our Product Availability guide for details.
  • Widget Visibility Override controls whether the date picker shows on the cart page. Use Widget Visibility Override to hide the calendar for products that don't require scheduling (e.g., gift cards, digital downloads). See the Widget Visibility guide for more info.

Configure Product Availability

  1. Add tags to Products

  1. Set rules in Bird App:
  • In Bird App go to Configure Locations or Pickup & Delivery depending on your store schedule setup.
  • Select Product Availability after choosing your location.
  • Choose to include or exclude products by tag.
  • Enter product tags and save.
  • For comprehensive setup guidance, see our guide on controlling delivery methods with product tags.

If even one product in the cart does not qualify for a particular delivery method, that delivery method will not be available for the entire order. This ensures all products in the cart can be delivered using the selected method.

Configure Widget Visibility Override

  1. In Bird App, navigate to Settings > Product Overrides.
  • Click Add Override and select Widget Visibility Override.
  1. Choose your override type:
  • Hide Widget: Enter SKUs or tags for products where scheduling should be disabled.
  • Only Show Widget: Enter SKUs or tags for products that require scheduling
  • For detailed configuration steps, see our complete guide on widget visibility controls.

If any product in the cart requires scheduling, the widget will appear on the cart page. If no products require scheduling, the widget will be hidden. This ensures the widget appears only when needed.
