How do I exclude certain products from specific delivery or pickup options?
You can exclude products using the Product Availability feature by adding tags to products in Shopify, then configuring exclusion rules in the Bird App.
The Bird App offers two powerful features to control product availability: Product Availability for granular delivery method control and Widget Visibility Override for complete scheduling control.
Configure Product Availability
- Tag products in Shopify:
- Navigate to Products in your Shopify admin
- Select the product and click the top-right menu
- Choose Add Tags and apply your desired tag

- Set exclusion rules in Bird App:
- Go to Configure Locations/Pickup & Delivery > Product Availability
- Select either Include or Exclude products tagged with specific tags
- Enter your product tags and save changes

Cart evaluation works for the entire cart. Mixed carts with conflicting tags will block the delivery method.
Configure Widget Visibility Override
- Access Product Overrides:
- Navigate to Bird App Settings > Product Overrides
- Click Add Override and select Widget Visibility Override
- Choose your override type:
- Hide Widget: Enter SKUs or tags for products where scheduling should be disabled
- Only Show Widget: Enter SKUs or tags for products that require scheduling

Both features are available on all Bird App plans, including the Free plan.
Key difference: Product Availability controls specific delivery methods while Widget Visibility Override hides the entire scheduling widget for select products. This distinction helps you choose the right approach for your business needs.
