How to Integrate Bird Pickup & Delivery with Shopify POS
You'll learn how to add date and time selection to orders created in Shopify POS, enabling customers to choose delivery or pickup times during in-store transactions.
This integration allows your staff to add delivery dates, pickup times, and location preferences directly from the POS interface. Orders created in POS will automatically include these details in Shopify.
Step 1: Add Bird App Tile to POS
Add the Bird app tile to enable date and time selection.
- Open Shopify POS on your device
- Tap Add Tile > App > Bird Pickup Delivery
- Select Bird Order Details (POS UI extension)
- Tap Save
The Bird app tile now appears in your POS interface.
Step 2: Configure Order Details
Configure delivery or pickup details for customer orders.
- Open the Bird app tile in your POS interface
- Select your delivery or pickup method for the order (Shipping / Delivery / Pick Up)
- Configure optional details as needed:
- Location: Click Location > Choose your fulfillment location (for Delivery/Pickup orders)
- Date: Click Date > Choose preferred date
- Start Time: Click Start Time > Choose preferred time slot
- End Time: Click End Time > Choose end time (creates a time range)
Your order details are now configured and ready for checkout.
Step 3: Test the Integration
Test your integration to ensure it works correctly.
- Create a test order in POS with delivery/pickup details
- Check that the order appears in Shopify admin with Bird app information
- Verify the Additional Details section contains delivery/pickup information
- Confirm notifications include the selected date and time
