How does Bird app handle when my store is closed or unavailable?
Bird Pickup Delivery uses Blockout Dates to prevent customers from selecting unavailable periods. You can block specific dates and times when your store is closed for holidays or special occasions.
Set up store blockout dates
- Go to Bird App Settings in your admin
- Navigate to Pickup & Delivery or Configure Locations, depending on your store schedule setup
- Click Show Settings on the desired delivery method
- Add your closed dates and time ranges
- Save your blockout schedule
Customers won't be able to select blocked periods as options for pickup, delivery, or shipping based on which delivery method you configured blockout dates for. This creates a smooth scheduling experience without confusion.
Configure product-specific blockouts
Use the Product Override feature to block dates for individual products. This helps when specific items aren't available during certain periods while your store remains open.
Complete setup instructions:
Follow the detailed guide on How to block dates from calendar for step-by-step configuration. You'll have full control over your availability schedule.
Customers only see available time slots that match your store hours and availability.
