How does date selection work when I have multiple products with different overrides in my cart?

When customers add multiple products with different Product Overrides to their cart, the system shows common available dates that work for all products in the cart.

The system uses the longest preparation time from all products in the cart to determine available dates.

Example: If your cart contains:

  • Product A: No override (1-day prep)
  • Product B: 2-day preparation time override
  • Product C: 3-day preparation time override

The customer can only select dates that are at least 3 days ahead (the longest preparation time from Product C).

Can I override a day that's disabled in my base configuration?

No. Product Override cannot enable days that are disabled in your base configuration. It can only:

  • Modify preparation times
  • Set available/blockout dates
  • Modify time slots (beta feature)

Product Override works on top of your base configuration, not instead of it.

What if I have multiple overrides for the same product?

The system applies the most specific override (by fulfillment method or location) and uses the most restrictive settings when multiple overrides conflict.

Example: Product "CAKE-001" with:

  • Global override: 2-day preparation time
  • Pickup-specific override: 1-day preparation time

When customer selects pickup, they see dates based on the pickup-specific override (1-day prep).

Troubleshooting

Problem: Dates are not selectable

Solution: Verify all products in the cart have at least one common available date and check that preparation times aren't too long for your available date range.
