Why am I seeing an error about "shipping.shipping_method_title"?
The Bird Pickup & Delivery app helps you easily resolve shipping method title issues with simple reinitialization steps.
This error occurs when the checkout process expects a shipping method title string but receives an empty value instead. The Bird app provides tools to quickly detect and resolve these configuration issues for you.
Quick Fix: Reset Theme Widget
- Navigate to Bird App Settings > Widget Placement
- Click Select a theme to install widget
- Change to a different theme, then back to your original theme
- Click Add widget in theme to reinstall
- You will be navigated to Shopify theme customizer, from there, toggle the widget on and off
The Bird app's built-in validation helps detect and resolve placement-related title issues during reinitialization.
Alternative Fix: Update Checkout Language
If widget reset doesn't work, the Bird app offers two ways to fix empty shipping title labels:
Quick Auto-Fix Option:
- Go to Bird App Settings > Text & Languages
- Click Edit next to your language
- Scroll to Checkout Page section
- Look for Fix Locale button - if it's not grayed out, click it to automatically resolve missing titles
Manual Customization Option:
- Click Edit in theme under Delivery language locale
- Search for
shipping_method_title
by pressing Ctrl/Cmd + F - Add space between the empty quotes for that property
- Save changes to update checkout labels
This corrects empty shipping title strings that cause the checkout error.
