Postal Code Validation for Delivery Availability in POS
Overview While scheduling orders via the Bird: Schedule Order POS tile, staff currently select a delivery location manually. Introducing a postal code check at this step can further streamline the workflow and improve accuracy.
Proposed Enhancement Add an option to validate delivery availability based on the customer’s postal code directly within the POS scheduling flow.
Expected Flow
- Staff enter or confirm the customer’s postal code (or use saved customer details)
- The system validates it against configured delivery zones
- Only eligible delivery locations are shown, or a clear indication is provided if delivery is unavailable
Benefits
- Helps staff quickly confirm delivery feasibility
- Reduces reliance on manual selection
- Improves speed and confidence during order scheduling at POS
This addition would make the POS scheduling experience more intuitive and aligned with real-world usage, especially during high-volume operations.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing this thoughtful suggestion — it's a great callout, especially for improving speed and accuracy during POS order scheduling.
We completely agree with the value here. In fact, postal code–based validation within the POS flow is already under consideration, and we're planning to include this in our upcoming improvement cycle.
This should help streamline the experience by automatically validating delivery eligibility and reducing manual effort for your staff.
We'll keep you posted as soon as this is rolled out. Stay tuned for updates!
Warm Regards,
Bird Support
