Update Order Delivery Date & Time After Placement
You'll learn how to modify delivery dates and times for existing orders using two methods.
This guide shows you how to update order delivery details after placement. You can use the Bird App for direct control or Shopify Admin for convenience. Both methods automatically notify customers of changes.
Works for all orders - regardless of status or fulfillment stage.
When to Use Each Method
- Bird App: Use when you want direct control and immediate access to all Bird-specific features
- Shopify Admin: Use when you prefer to stay within Shopify's familiar interface
Via Bird App
Update order details directly in the Bird App for immediate control.
- Navigate to Orders in the Bird App dashboard
- Locate the target order in your orders list
- Edit unrecorded orders by clicking the pencil icon on the order line
- Edit recorded orders by clicking directly on the existing date
- Update order details in the popup window:
- Modify shipping method
- Change delivery date
- Adjust delivery time
- Enable Send notification to customer if needed
- Click Submit
- Reload the page to see your changes reflected
- Verify updates appear on the orders page
Via Shopify Admin
Update orders directly from Shopify Admin for seamless integration.
- Open Shopify Admin and navigate to Orders
- Select the target order from your orders list
- Access Bird options by clicking More Actions → Bird: Update Date/Time
- Review current details in the popup showing delivery method, date, and time
- Modify delivery details as needed and click Submit
- Enable customer notification by selecting Send notification to customer
- Confirm changes - the system automatically updates the order and sends an Order Updated email
