Why isn't the Bird widget showing on my cart page?
In most cases, the Bird widget doesn't appear because the app isn't enabled in your theme's embed settings. The rest of this article covers this and other common reasons in more detail.
Most missing widgets come from three common issues. Fix them in this order:
- Enable the app in your theme
- Go to Settings > Widget Placement in the Bird app
- Select your theme and click Add widget in theme
- Toggle the app on in your theme's app embed section
- Save your changes
- Follow the complete widget enablement guide for detailed steps
- Use manual placement for customized themes
- Go to Settings > Widget Placement in the Bird app
- Enter the ID or class of your checkout button (e.g.,
#checkout
or.checkout-btn
) - The widget will appear exactly where you want it without code changes
- Follow the manual widget placement guide for detailed instructions
- Disable dynamic checkout buttons
- Turn off Show dynamic checkout button in your theme settings
- Hide express checkout options using custom CSS in the Bird app's Widget Design settings
- Learn how to disable dynamic checkout buttons and hide express checkout options
Additional troubleshooting:
- AJAX cart issues: Increase the reinitialize delay in Widget Placement settings, or follow the dynamic cart loading guide for detailed steps
- Widget visibility rules: Check if products are configured to hide the widget using widget visibility controls
- Cart type: Use a "page" type cart instead of a "drawer" cart by configuring your cart type
You're done when the date picker appears on your cart page and customers can select delivery times. Contact us using email or in-app chat if you still encounter any issues.
