Setting up zones and price tiers by hand takes time. Ask Bird drafts shipping and delivery rates from a sentence you write, such as “Free delivery within 10 km over $50, otherwise $8”, so you only review and publish.
Draft a rate
- On Home, find Ask Bird. If you have no rates yet, use the box on the Rates page instead.
- Describe the rate in plain words, or pick one of the suggestions.
- Select Draft it.
- Answer any short question Ask Bird asks, such as which postal codes or what price.
- When you see Your draft is ready, select Review the draft.
- Check the changes, then select Turn on at checkout the first time, or Publish (the button shows how many changes).
Ask why a rate didn’t show
Ask Bird can also explain a checkout. Ask, for example, “Why did 10001 get no rate?”.
What Ask Bird does and doesn’t do
- Nothing changes at checkout until you review the draft and publish it.
- It never sees customer names, emails, phone numbers or orders.
- It only helps with shipping and delivery rates in the app.
- Changes it drafted show in History with Ask Bird as the source.
- Under each reply, Was this right? lets you answer Yes or No. It helps us improve Ask Bird.
Troubleshooting
- You’ve reached today’s Ask Bird limit: each store has a daily limit. Add your rates on the Rates page, or try again tomorrow.
- Ask Bird isn’t available right now: your rates are not affected. Add them on the Rates page, or select Talk to a person.
- I couldn’t turn that into a rate yet: say it another way, with the place, the price and any condition.
