How to block dates from calendar?

Block specific dates from your delivery calendar to prevent customer selection of unavailable days.

Use date blocking when your store closes on certain days. You can also pause delivery services temporarily. This feature prevents customers from selecting blocked dates for pickup, local delivery, or shipping.

Access Blockout Date Settings

Choose the correct navigation path based on your store's schedule setup.

For Stores with Same Schedule (All Locations)

If all your locations share the same delivery and pickup schedule:

  1. Navigate to Bird App Settings
  2. Click Pickup & Delivery > Edit Settings
  3. Scroll to Blockout dates within configure availability

For Stores with Different Schedules (Multiple Locations)

If each location has its own unique schedule:

  1. Go to Bird App Settings
  2. Click Configure locations
  3. Choose your specific location from the list
  4. Enable the delivery method and click Edit Settings
  5. Scroll to Blockout dates within configure availability

Add Blocked Dates

Select specific dates and times to block from customer selection.

  1. Choose your blocking method:
  • Single Date tab - Block one specific date
  • Date Range tab - Block a range of consecutive dates

  1. Select your date(s):
  • For single dates: Click on the desired date in the calendar
  • For date ranges: Click the start date, then the end date in the calendar
  • Use the left/right arrows to navigate between months

  1. Set time restrictions (optional):
  • Start Time: Click the dropdown and select when the block begins
  • End Time: Click the dropdown and select when the block ends
  • Leave both empty to block the entire day

  1. Click Add to confirm the block

Important Notes

  • Blocked dates only prevent new bookings. Existing orders on blocked dates will not be affected. Consider your current order volume before blocking dates to avoid scheduling conflicts.
