Last Mile Delivery
Jitsu Integration: Same-Day Last-Mile Delivery

Jitsu is a same-day last-mile delivery network in the United States. Connect your Jitsu account to Bird and delivery orders are priced at checkout and dispatched to a Jitsu courier automatically.
For help with Jitsu pricing, coverage, or anything about your Jitsu account, contact the Jitsu team.
Requirements
- An active Jitsu account and API key.
- A store in the United States. Jitsu is not available elsewhere.
- Multiple locations enabled in Bird.
- Local Delivery set up, with delivery days and time slots.
- A complete address on every location Jitsu collects from.
Connect Jitsu
- Click Settings, then Integrations.
- Find Jitsu and open it.
- Enter your Jitsu API Key and click Connect.
Bird verifies the key with Jitsu. The remaining settings appear once you’re connected.
Set up the webhook
This is what keeps your order statuses up to date. Do it once, right after connecting.
- On the Jitsu card, click Webhook setup.
- Copy the Webhook URL, the Secret header name, and the Webhook secret.
- In your Jitsu webhook settings, add the URL, then add the header with the secret as its value. If you can’t find it, send all three to the Jitsu team and ask them to register the webhook.
Skip this and deliveries are still dispatched, but Bird won’t hear back when a courier picks up or delivers.
You can click Rotate to replace the secret at any time. The old one stops working straight away, so give Jitsu the new one.

Notification emails
Add the emails to alert if Bird can’t schedule a delivery. Separate them with commas.
You’re only emailed when a failure is final. Timeouts and outages are retried quietly.
Locations
- Tick the locations Jitsu delivers for. You don’t have to tick them all.
- Add a contact name and contact phone to every ticked location, so a courier can reach someone at pickup.
Rates
- Tick Enable Jitsu rates to price each delivery live at checkout.
- Set the rate name and description your customers see.
- Offer free delivery above a minimum order value.
- Add a percentage or flat handling fee on top of Jitsu’s quote.
A live Jitsu rate replaces your static delivery rates for those locations. If Jitsu can’t quote, no rate shows.
Click Save.
Dispatching an order
- The customer picks a delivery date and time, and sees the Jitsu rate.
- Mark the order Out for delivery in Bird. This is what sends it to Jitsu — creating the order does not.
- Jitsu collects from your location and delivers inside the window the customer chose.
- Statuses update as the courier moves: out for delivery, then delivered, failed, or cancelled.
Jitsu quotes and dispatches as a same-day service, so the delivery window the customer picks needs to be one your Jitsu coverage can actually serve.
Disconnect Jitsu
- Click Settings, then Integrations.
- Find Jitsu and open it.
- Click Disconnect and confirm.
Bird stops quoting and dispatching right away. Deliveries already with Jitsu are unaffected.
Notes
- Cancelling an order in Shopify cancels the Jitsu delivery.
- Marking the same order out for delivery twice won’t create a second delivery.
- Editing an order after dispatch does not update it at Jitsu. Change it there, or cancel and re-dispatch.
- Jitsu prices in USD.
Troubleshooting
No Jitsu rate at checkout. Check that Enable Jitsu rates is ticked, the location is ticked, multiple locations are enabled, and both the pickup and delivery addresses are inside Jitsu’s coverage.
A delivery failed to schedule. Bird emails the reason to your notification emails. Usually a bad drop-off address, a missing phone, or a revoked API key.
Orders dispatch but statuses never change. The webhook isn’t registered, or the secret has been rotated since you gave it to Jitsu. Re-copy all three values from Webhook setup.
Nothing reached Jitsu. Confirm the order was marked Out for delivery in Bird.
