How to Configure Delivery Rates

Set up custom delivery rates that automatically adjust based on order conditions, location, and timing.

Configure delivery rates for single or multiple locations. Use flexible pricing rules for customization.

Single Location Setup

Choose uniform rates across all locations for simplified management.

  1. Select “I have same rates for all my locations”
  2. Click Add Rate

Rate Configuration Steps

1. Define Rate Details

Enter your rate name and select pricing conditions.

2. Configure Pricing Conditions

Choose from seven flexible condition types:

Price-Based Rates

Set minimum and maximum order values for tiered pricing.

Weight-Based Rates

Configure rates based on order weight.

Day-Based Rates

Set different rates for specific days of the week.

Example: $10 Monday-Friday, $15 Saturday-Sunday

Rush/Urgency Surcharge Rates

Charge surcharge rates for urgent or same-day deliveries.

Time-Based Rates

Multiple Conditions

Condition Value Guidelines

  • Price: Set minimum and maximum order values.
  • Weight: Configure weight ranges in grams.
  • Day: Specify start and end days of the week.
  • SKU: Add product-specific rate configurations.
  • Urgency/Surcharge: Define minimum and maximum rush delivery days.
  • Time: Set delivery time slot ranges.
  • Date: Choose calendar date ranges.
  • Multiple: Combine any of the above conditions.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Overlapping conditions: Don’t set conflicting date ranges or time slots.
  • Missing minimums: Always set a minimum value for price/weight conditions.
  • Test your rates: Check that rates apply correctly.

Advanced Configuration Tips

  • Location-specific rates: You can configure different rates for each location by adding rates individually. This approach differs from using uniform rates across all locations. Refer to How to Set Up Postal Code-Based Delivery Zones for more information.
  • Rush/surcharge pricing: Use the Rush Delivery condition type and set minimum days to 0 (same day) and maximum days to 1 (next day) with your surcharge rate.
  • Complex pricing rules: Combine multiple conditions by clicking “Add condition.” Mix price, weight, day, time, and other factors for sophisticated pricing strategies.
