Can I customize the text and appearance of my widget?

Yes, you can customize both the text and appearance of your Bird Pickup & Delivery widget.

Bird Pickup & Delivery lets you change the widget’s look in Bird Settings > Widget Design and its wording in Bird Settings > Text and Languages, so it matches your store’s branding.

Customizing Widget Appearance

You can change the widget’s visual elements including colors and component styling. The Bird Pickup & Delivery Full App Setup Guide walks you through enabling the widget in your theme.

Once the widget is enabled in your theme, you can customize the following appearance elements:

  1. Colors: Change the widget’s Accent color
  2. Component styling: Style the delivery method tabs and icons, calendar, input fields, widget header, footer and error text, and the pickup location list separately
  3. Calendar: Choose whether the week starts on Monday or Sunday, and whether the calendar opens from a date field (collapsible) or is always shown
  4. Width: Restrict the widget’s width with CSS in Bird Settings > Developer > Advanced styling. See Widget Design: Widget Width

Customizing Widget Text

You can customize all text elements and configure multiple languages. Browse our How to Customize Widget Language and Labels for complete instructions.

Available text customizations include:

  • Labels: Change calendar labels (e.g., “Pick a date” to “Select a Date”) and delivery method labels (e.g., “Store Pickup” to “Local Pickup”)
  • Instructions: Add custom instructional text above or below the widget and specific instructions for each delivery method
  • Error Messages: Edit validation error text in “Text & Languages” settings, including postal code validation and Validate and Expire Stale Delivery/Pickup Time Selections messages
  • Multiple Languages: Configure the widget in any language you need
