Can I offer discounts for less popular or off-peak time slots?

Yes. Use a Bird discount limited to a time range to reward customers who choose quieter time slots.

Discounting off-peak slots spreads orders more evenly through the day, so your staff and drivers aren’t idle in quiet hours and overloaded at peak times.

Discount off-peak time slots

1. Go to Bird Settings > Discounts and click Add.
2. Create the discount in Bird and choose the Delivery method (Pick Up, Local Delivery or Shipping).
3. Set the discount type and value, for example 10% off.
4. Check Limit to specific time range and enter the Start time and End time of your off-peak window.

Alternative: a lower rate for off-peak slots

You can also price slots through rates instead of discounts. Add a rate with Time in Based on, set Min Time and Max Time, and give off-peak slots a lower Rate amount (or peak slots a higher one).
