Mandatory Date and Time Selection

Yes. Turn on Validate selections, and Bird blocks checkout and express checkout buttons until a date and time are picked.

The Bird app’s date picker widget appears on the cart page, but certain checkout methods can skip this step. Here’s how to ensure customers must select a delivery date and time:

1. Check Express Checkout Buttons

Express checkout buttons (like PayPal or Shop Pay) let customers skip the widget and go straight to payment. Bird hides Buy it now and, once Validate selections is on (step 2), grays out the express buttons in your cart until a date and time are picked. 2. Enable Validate Selections Setting

The Bird app includes a validation feature that makes date/time selection mandatory before checkout. When enabled, customers cannot proceed without selecting a delivery date and time.

To enable this feature:

1. Go to Bird Settings > Validations
2. Under Basic validation settings, check Validate selections

3. Set the Cart Type to “Page” (Optional)

The widget works with every cart type. We recommend the Page cart because it gives the widget the most room.

To change the cart type:

1. In your Shopify admin, go to your theme’s Customize settings
2. Set the cart type to page and save
