Why is the delivery date not showing in my order details or confirmation emails?

Updated July 25, 2026

Add the Bird App code snippet to your Shopify email template to display delivery date and time information.

ℹ️

Important: The Bird widget stores the delivery selection in the order’s Additional Details (order attributes), and Shopify’s default email templates don’t display it. Add the snippet linked below to show it. If your store stores Bird data in order metafields instead, contact us for the matching snippet.

Shopify’s default templates exclude Bird delivery information. You must manually add the code snippet below in staff emails template.

To add delivery details to order confirmation emails:

  1. Navigate to Email Template
    • Go to Bird Settings > Notifications > Edit order confirmation email OR
    • Go to Shopify Settings > Notifications > Customer Notifications > Order Confirmation
  2. Insert Bird App Code Snippet

This code retrieves delivery method, date, time, and day information. Place it where customers see it clearly.

  1. Save and Test
    • Save your template changes
    • Place a test order to verify delivery details appear correctly

You’re done. Your customers now receive confirmation emails showing scheduled delivery details. Follow this Enable Order Confirmation Email with Slot Date and Time for detailed steps.

If delivery dates still don’t appear in order details, customers may bypass the date selection widget. This happens when:

  • You set date/time selection to optional instead of required
  • Customers use express checkout buttons that skip your widget
  • The date picker isn’t visible on your cart page

Make date/time selection mandatory by configuring How Do I Make Date and Time Selection Mandatory Before Checkout?. This prevents customers from completing orders without selecting delivery details.

Configure delivery details across your workflow for complete visibility:

That’s it. Delivery information now appears throughout your order workflow, keeping customers and staff informed.
